Hampton Manor is an English country house, built in 1855 by then owner Frederick Peel, who inherited the land (thankfully Ms Reeves wasn’t around in the 1850’s) from his father, peeler in-chief, Bobbie Peel. The clock tower was built in the 1870’s with the wedding ceremony room and courtyard being modern additions. Today the house is a hotel with two restaurants and a very good bakery – we may have visited it a few times!
